SCS Landscaping / Known-System Water Use

Drip Zone Flow Calculator

Total known emitter groups and user-entered runtime into hourly, per-cycle, and weekly water volume. This is arithmetic for known inputs, not hydraulic approval.

Review the drip-bed use case; catch cups measure sprinklers, not drip emitters.

Known zone inputs

Add emitter groups

Use manufacturer-rated flow values. Actual field flow can differ with pressure, clogging, elevation, and installation.

The prefilled 30 minutes and 3 cycles per week are demonstration inputs, not a recommended watering schedule. Replace them with the runtime and frequency you are reviewing for this site; the tool does not choose either value.

Method And Limits

Water-use math without a capacity verdict.

Use verified emitter data and inspect the real system. The calculator does not know pressure, friction loss, elevation, supply, soil, weather, code, or plant demand.

Formula

Count x rated flow

  • Group flow = emitters x flow per emitter
  • Zone flow = sum of groups
  • Per cycle = hourly flow / 60 x minutes
  • Weekly = per cycle x cycles
Worked example

20 one-GPH emitters

The known total is 20 GPH. A 30-minute cycle is 10 gallons; three equal cycles total 30 gallons per week.

Not verified

No hydraulic or schedule approval

The result does not prove pipe capacity, pressure, uniformity, runtime suitability, code compliance, or plant health.

Owner review

No system action occurs.

The tool cannot change a controller, publish a schedule, message a customer, purchase equipment, or guarantee performance.
